Bloomfield Bobcats Head to Artesia for State Tournament Opener

Interview with Coach Richardson

The season continues for the Bloomfield Bobcats.

Bloomfield earned the #15 seed in the Class 4A State Tournament and will travel to face #2 Artesia in the opening round. The Bulldogs enter as defending state champions, making it one of the toughest road tests in the bracket.

But for head coach Dominique Richardson and his team, the focus isn’t on seeding — it’s on opportunity.

“We’re in,” Richardson said. “And once you’re in, anything can happen.”

The Bobcats have been battle-tested all season and understand that tournament basketball comes down to execution, composure, and effort on every possession.

Traveling to Artesia presents a challenge, but it also gives Bloomfield a chance to compete on one of the biggest stages in 4A.

That’s why you play in March.

And the Bobcats are ready for their shot.
