Bloomfield Bobcats Dominate Española Valley 53-0, Extend Winning Streak to Eight Games”

The Bloomfield Bobcats continued their dominant season with a resounding 53-0 victory over Española Valley at Bobcat Stadium on Friday night, extending their winning streak to eight games in a special evening that also honored local veterans. The Bobcats, who are the top-ranked team in Class 4A, put on a stellar performance both on and off the field, paying tribute to veterans from the community with a pre-game ceremony, making the night even more memorable.

Quarterback Blake Spencer led the Bobcats’ offensive onslaught, throwing four touchdown passes in the first half. Spencer completed all 13 of his passes in the opening half, finishing the game with 15 completions on 17 attempts for over 130 yards. His accuracy and poise helped Bloomfield score two quick touchdowns in the first quarter, putting the game out of reach early.

Spencer connected on a 45-yard touchdown pass to Kaden McCown for the opening score, followed by a 5-yard pass to Peyton Duncan, giving the Bobcats a 14-0 lead after one quarter. Spencer continued to shine in the second quarter, throwing touchdown passes to both Kaleb Hutchens and McCown, giving Bloomfield a commanding 34-0 halftime advantage.

The festive atmosphere extended into the second half, where backup quarterback Manuel Chavarria found Tayetum Callado for a 12-yard touchdown late in the third quarter. Deasyl Priddy capped off the night with a 13-yard rushing touchdown and an electrifying 80-yard punt return, sealing the game under the mercy rule with 7:46 left in the fourth quarter.

The Bobcats’ defense was just as impressive, allowing only 29 yards in the first half and holding the Sundevils to just 70 yards total. Elias Johnson recovered a fumble, and Hutchens intercepted a pass in the end zone, stopping Española Valley’s only real scoring threat.

The night was made even more special by the presence of local veterans, who were honored in a heartfelt pre-game ceremony that included a moment of silence, the presentation of the colors, and a tribute to their service. It was a fitting way to celebrate their contributions, alongside the Bobcats’ continued success on the field.

Bloomfield, now 8-0 on the season, will wrap up their regular season on the road next Friday against Grants. listen to the game live on 92.5 KRWN FM
