Farmington Scorpions Claim First Win of the Season in Hard-Fought Battle Against Kirtland Central

The Farmington Scorpions kicked off their volleyball season with a thrilling 3-1 victory over the Kirtland Central Broncos on Tuesday night, under the leadership of new head coach Louisa Duran. The match was a nail-biter from the start, with Kirtland Central taking the first set 26-24. However, the Scorpions rallied to win the next three sets 25-18, 25-22, and 25-23.

Coach Duran praised her team’s resilience, saying, “We had a great start to the season on Tuesday night at Kirtland. We came out slow in the first set but finished strong. We had a lot of great team efforts.”

Key performances included Linsey Yazzie’s powerful hitting from the outside and Brynlee Hancock’s dominance behind the serving line, contributing multiple aces to the Scorpions’ victory.

Kirtland Central, already with two matches under their belt, now holds a 1-2 record. Meanwhile, Farmington looks to continue their momentum as they host Bloomfield tonight.

This win sets a promising tone for the Scorpions as they navigate the rest of their season under Coach Duran’s guidance.
